Award-winning｜Yinyou Creative's "Butterfly. Sustainable Craft Trilogy" won the 2024 Taichung Youth Entrepreneurship Brand Cultural and Creative Category "Must-Buy" Award

 This work is inspired by butterflies, a symbol of good fortune, and uses modern sustainable materials to create ancient velvet, weaving and kingfisher feather crafts, showing the new possibilities of centuries-old traditional crafts in contemporary life. The entire set of three works, with blue butterflies, red butterflies and blue butterflies representing three different crafts, uses FSC and OEKO-TEX certified spun wood silk threads to replace traditional silkworm and kingfisher feathers, reflecting the SDGs sustainable development concept.
 "Butterfly. Sustainable Craft Trilogy" shows an alternative to animal materials, allowing us to rethink the balance between humans, the environment and craftsmanship, and practice a new look of sustainable craftsmanship. We hope that this work will trigger more innovative attempts on the coexistence of craftsmanship and nature, and promote more abundant sustainable development.

 In velvet crafts, the butterfly represents blessings and luck. Wearing a red butterfly symbolizes bringing blessings home, which is an excellent symbol. Therefore, the butterfly is chosen as the shape of the sustainable craft trilogy.
 The main material of the Butterfly · Sustainable Craft Trilogy is spun silk thread. Starting from the perspective of sustainability, spun wood artificial silk thread replaces the silk of velvet flower craft and kingfisher feathers of kingfisher inlay craft, allowing traditional crafts to enter life in a sustainable manner.
 The blue butterfly is made with embroidery craft, and the spun silk thread was originally the embroidery material, matched with gold accessories as bookmarks; the red butterfly is made with velvet craft, and the furry, red color is matched with a gold clip, which can be made into hair accessories or clipped on clothes; the blue butterfly is made with sustainable kingfisher feather inlay craft, which is made with 3D printed body and velvet craft, and is made into a brooch that can be attached to clothes, bags and other decorations.
